Scarabus

There are several castings of the Scarabus that I know of. The first two are almost identical, and both have the same stamp on the bottom (1995). The second one appears to be a modification of the first, put in to production to correct problems. The second (or "backpack version") has additional detail on its lower back (it looks like the molded on a part of the back from a Berzerker), and is slightly shorter due to the removal of some thigh and lower torso. In 2006, a new, smaller sculpt was made based off the art in 3055U.

Scarabus Standard casting
Here is a straightforward Scarabus in the metallic scheme of the Broadsword Legion.

STATUS: Completed, 5/2007.

Scarabus 2006 casting
This is the 3055U resculpt Scarabus. It's featured in the winter camo scheme of the FRR 2nd Freemen.

STATUS: Completed, 5/2007.

Scarabus "Backpack" casting
This Scarabus has been reposed to be facing more forward. The paint scheme is for Brock's Buccaneers, a merc unit described in Mercenaries Supplemental. This mini appears in Total Warfare on p. 106.

STATUS: Completed, 6/2004. This mini is not for sale.

Scarabus Standard casting
This Scarabus is painted in a Skye Jaegars Regulars scheme. It has been reposed by twisting the torso so that the gun is pointing in the same direction as the feet, and the right arm is positioned more naturally.

STATUS: Completed 1/2003. Sold, 2/2003.

Scarabus Standard casting
This Scarabus is painted in a Lyran Regulars scheme. The scheme itself isn't from a book, rather it's my artist's conception of how I think some Steiner mechs should look. There's blue, gray, and sharp detailing; almost a little flashy. A perfect scheme for the core of the Lyran military. It has been reposed by bringing the arms to a forward and down position, and rotating the head to face forward.

STATUS: Part of Dave's collection, completed Jan. 2002.

Scarabus "Clawful"
Standard casting
This Scarabus is painted in a Lyran Alliance / SLDF scheme. It has been reposed by rotating the torso and right arm. It represents the machine of a mechwarrior with callsign "Clawful", who accumulated 2 unassisted kills against heavy and assault mechs over the course of a campaign vs. Word of Blake forces held by a gaming group in Indiana.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered Jan. 2002.

Scarabus "Fisto"
Standard casting
This Scarabus is painted in an alpine camo Steiner scheme. It has been reposed by rotating the torso and right arm. It represents the machine of a mechwarrior with callsign "Fisto", who accumulated 4 unassisted kills against heavy and assault mechs over the course of a campaign vs. Word of Blake forces held by a gaming group in Indiana.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered Jan. 2002.

Scarabus "Backpack" casting
The Scarabus is a widely disliked mech from 3055. But with lots of armor, TAG, and 10/15 movement, it's one of my favorite artillery spotters. This one is painted in a 1st Davion Guards scheme from the FedSun Field Manual.

STATUS: Custom job, complete 1/2001.
