The Locust is an "unseen" mech whose image came from the Anime franchise "Crusher Joe". It is related to the Locust IIC. In 2009, Locust briefly became "reseen" and the old image was re-introduced into Battletech. There have been many Locust sculpts:
- The original sculpt is very tall and spindly, and the date on the base appears to say 1986.
- The second casting (mid-1980s) was smaller and very common in its time.
- In 2002, a new "reseen" version was released, using different non-anime art.
- Shortly afterwards, a rocket launcher variant was also released.
- A Game of Armored Combat (AGoAC) box sculpt, 2018
- IWM resculpt based on the AGoAC version, with parts for 1V, 1E, and 1Vb.
- Alpha Strike Boxed Set (ASBS) sculpt (2023), base a4. Represents 3M/7V variants.
