Locust

The Locust is an "unseen" mech whose image came from the Anime franchise "Crusher Joe". It is related to the Locust IIC. In 2009, Locust briefly became "reseen" and the old image was re-introduced into Battletech. There have been many Locust sculpts:

Mech Picture IWM resculpt, 1E
This Locust is painted in a 49th Shadow Division scheme. This mini was painted for the IWM catalog.

STATUS: Completed 02/2023.

Mech Picture IWM resulpt, 1V
This Locust is painted in a Ryan's Rebels scheme. This mini was painted for the IWM catalog.

STATUS: Completed 02/2023.

Mech Picture IWM resculpt, 1Vb
This Locust is painted in a Northwind Highlanders scheme. This mini was painted for the IWM catalog.

STATUS: Completed 02/2023.

Mech Picture AGoAC sculpt
This Locust is painted in an Eridani Light Horse plains camo, inspired by the original Camospecs pamphlet.

STATUS: Completed 02/2021.

Mech Picture AGoAC sculpt (prototype)
This mini is from the Camospecs Online diorama at GenCon 2018. It's painted in an 8th Sword of Light scheme.

STATUS: Completed 07/2018.

Mech Picture AGoAC sculpt (prototype)
This is another prototype of a mini that I painted in a Killer Bees scheme for Catalyst Games. It was intended for display at GenCon 2016, though did not actually make it there.

STATUS: Completed 06/2016.

Locust 2nd casting, modified
The legs of this Locust have been re-posed to give a more dynamic stance, and the mini is stepping in a small fountain on the parade grounds of Sian. The paint scheme is House Imarra. This mini appeared in the CSO diorama at Gencon 2009.

STATUS: Completed July 2009.

Locust Reseen RL casting
This Locust is painted in the dark blue scheme of Marian Hegemony's 1st Legio Victrix.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered 5/2004.

Locust Reseen casting
This Locust is painted in the dark blue scheme of the Free Rasalhague Republic's 1st Tyr. On some level this is silly since the Tyr only use assault Mechs.

STATUS: Completed and sold, 10/2003.

Locust Reseen casting
This is one of the new "reseen" Locusts. It has been painted in a generic blue and white scheme with fine detail.

STATUS: Completed 12/2002. Sold, 01/2003.

Locust Old casting
This is an original casting Locust. I had to reconstruct large portions of it, including the left arm and both torso end caps. It is painted in a weathered Outworlds Alliance paint scheme, with hand-painted OA insignia.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered Jan. 2002.

Locust 2nd casting, modified
This is another modified LRM-5 Locust. This one has been painted in a Davion desert camo scheme.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered Jan. 2002.

Locust 2nd casting, modified
This locust has been modified to the 1M variant by replacing its machine gun arms with LRM-5 pods. A useful fire support mech, but it only has 1 ton of armor and thus must stay far away from the enemy. This one is painted in a green camo Kurita scheme.

STATUS: Custom job, delivered Jan. 2002.

Locust Old Casting
Here's an original casting Locust. The date on the bottom is hard to read, but it appears to say 1986. This form is a lot taller and more spindly than the common casting. This one features a House Kurita paint scheme.

STATUS: Sold, April 2001.

Locust "Gold Bug"
2nd casting
This is the Locust, one of the best-known recon mechs ever and also now an "unseen" mech. This one has a two-tone drab paint scheme with gold speckling, done by Katherine Fanjoy. Additional detailing and terrain base by Dave Fanjoy.

STATUS: Sold, Sept 2000.
